Jack's works

     The first essay by London, "The Typhoon off the coast of Japan" (1893), for which he received the first prize of one of the San Francisco newspapers, was the beginning of his literary career.




     1896 abruptly changed the life of Jack London: gold found in Alaska, the so-called golden fever begins, in which a young writer also takes part. He was not destined to find gold after several years of exhausting labor, but a real treasure for London is the personal experience and experience of this peculiar land, which was named in subsequent works - "White Silence". The so-called "northern stories" brought fame to a young author.


     In 1900, the first collection of stories "The Son of the Wolf" then the second - "God of his fathers" (1901) and, finally, - the novel "The Daughter of the Snow" (1902).



    Jack London was one of the founders of the animalistic tradition not only in the American but also in world literature. The best of the animalistic works, of course, were "The Call of Ancestors" (1903), White fang (1906), Jerry-Islander (1917), "Michael, brother of Jerry" (1917).


     A significant phenomenon of American literature at the beginning of the XX century was the novel London "Sea Wolf" (1904).



     In 1907, the collection "Love of Life", which contains the eponymous story about a man who did not obey the unfavorable circumstances, overcame them.

     One of the best works of Jack London is the novel Martin Eden (1909). The autobiographical image of Martin Yeden becomes an example of the great abilities of man from the people. A simple sailor, thanks to superhuman perseverance and natural talent, becomes a well-known writer. The novel became a kind of hymn to the creative abilities of man.
     
     Jack London wrote more than 20 novels and novels, more than 200 stories. Selected Collections: "Son of the Wolf" (1900) "The God of His Fathers" (1901)  "Children of the Frost" (1902) "The Love of Life" (1907) "The South Sea Tales" (1911) "The Strength of the Strong" (1914).
